Abstract :
The senegalese wolof community seems to be « alcoolophobe ». Thus, we can see that a set of terms, with a considerable stigmatizing power has been elaborated and stood by in order to consider alcohol as the "water of great comfort" for "the youngest of the civilization". But what one should not lose(sight) track of is the fact that the consumption of intoxicating drinks, which is sometimes excessive, can be, for some people, one of the safest means to brave the referential social norms that are sometimes very restrictive.
