Résumé
Les sociétés, aussi bien traditionnelles que modernes, semblent comprendre la mort qui, pourtant, relève du domaine de l’innommable. Ainsi, mettent elles en œuvre un langage ponctué par un ensemble de pratiques symboliques ayant vocation de « gommer » le caractère déconcertant de l’issue fatale.

Abstract
The traditional societies as well as those modern, think that they know death that, yet, comes under the unknown field. So, they bring into play a language punctuated with a set of symbolic practices that are empowered to erase the awful aspect of its disastrous outcome.
